Who/What is Linear Air Taxi?
A curious result came up recently researching flights recently: Linear Air. A regional flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Greensboro, North Carolina is served non-stop by smaller affiliated carriers of Delta Air Lines like Republic Airways. These round trip fares can be found for as low as $133 round trip depending on when you travel and how far in advance you book.
Curiously this option was showing for Linear Air so I did some digging to find that this is not actually a scheduled flight but as the representative told me “an example of what Linear can fly” starting at $6,828 for the whole plane.
Also note that the flight is operated from the corporate flight facility at the Atlanta airport, not a typical gate one would fly out of after checking a bag and clearing security.
Is this deceiving? Maybe. It was at least interesting to me because it was the first time I had ever seen pure charter flights listed in a reservation system like this that actually were not scheduled flights.
