Dear Fellow White People of ‘Merica

First, there’s no need to comment on this piece, I’m just asking you to read it and listen. You don’t have to even have to share it either.

Google “white population in US” and a statistic returns 77.35%. Is that different in the mile or two around you, quite possibly but what’s wrong with any of this? At work, I had some discussions with a coworker over the past few days on how we can get the stereotypical straight white male to join others and be more engaged around the office.

What will it take? Watching a movie like The Wiz or Hidden Figures together? Maybe an afternoon out to the Atlanta Civil Rights Museum? What exactly would the other side of this look like? A kegger lunch at Hooters complete with comments that made others look uncomfortable?

Bottom line is that it’s 2018 and there’s still a man in the White House trying to Make what he thinks ‘Merica looks at whatever moment Great Again. We’re just not exactly sure at any moment what that really means? Plus he keeps lying over and over telling mostly himself and the minority of ‘Mericans who voted for him inconsistent things that don’t make any sense.

Support one another is all I ask. Listen before you speak. You don’t have to walk in the room and proclaim anything and make the room go quiet. What does that solve?

You never know who is talking and what cool stories you may be able to tell your family members later instead of what that man in the White House Tweeted about a few hours ago.
